Thriller

The first task that I have been asked to do is to research Thrillers.

What is a thriller?
Thriller is a broad genre of film, television and literature that is associated with a fast pace, frequent action, and suspense and often overlaps with mystery stories, but are distinguished by their plots. There are many different types of sub-genres including action thriller, disaster thriller, psychological thriller and Erotic thriller.

Thrillers regularly take place in exotic places such as foreign cities or high seas and usually tell the story of a hero who is accustomed to danger or an ordinary citizen who accidentally becomes involved in the danger, they must thwart the plans of a better equipped villian. Usually in a thriller the villain’s identity is known from the beginning and the hero has to foil his/her plans, whereas in a mystery the villains identity is not known until the end of the story. Traditionally been men, women lead characters are becoming increasingly common. Thrillers are also known to be full of red herrings, suspense and cliffhangers, they are also a very flexible genre and jeopardy and violent confrontations are standard plot elements.
